Lot 85: Rare Candle Dryer

Pine, original varnish finish, lamb's tongue carved post, with a turned central support (15″ dia) at the top, with eight carved arms, each with a removable circular disc (9 1/2″ dia), with approximately 25-30 wire loops for hanging candles, X-shaped base, c. 1840-1850, (see Shaker Bicentennial Auction, 10/10/74, Cleveland, OH, lot 42; and Magazine Antiques, p. 812, November 1975, Green Willow Farm, for similar examples), 39 1/2″ h, 34 1/2″ dia.
