Maple and birch, traces of original red stain, tall bold finials, rare five slat form with top slat pegged into stiles, curvilinear flat arms mortised and pegged, natural rush seat, finely formed figural birch rockers, pegged into front and back stiles, exceptional overall condition, (note: a very fine example of Mt. Lebanon, NY craftsmanship, possibly made for Elder Frederick Evans, one of the most prominent Shakers of the 19th c. and a very tall gentleman, c. 1850-1870), 16 1/2″ seat h, 47″ overall h.
