Maple and pine, original light stained ochre varnish finish, three fingers, small copper tacks and points, small break at back right of rim (does not show when lid is closed), 1 5/8″ h, 4 1/2″ l; Dipper, pine and hickory, original light red stained varnish finish, six small copper tacks at seam, finely turned handle held with two copper rivets, Hancock, MA, c. 1860, 6″ dia, 7 1/2″ l (handle).
