Lot 193: Rare Side Chair

Maple and tiger maple, original dark brown stained finish, three slats, each with three cut out club designs, early rush seat, original tilters on bottom of back stiles, overall good condition, (bottom two slats have small splits at center cut outs but do not continue through), New Lebanon, NY, c. 1850, (note: this is the only Shaker chair of this style we have ever seen), 16″ seat h, 41″ overall h.
