Carved and molded ogee crown, hinged sides, glazed front door, brass works, round porcelain dial, Roman numerals, with Arabic numeral surround, brass hands with sunburst, intricate openwork brass top of dial with winged cherubs, supporting a 16-point sun, side figures and a central star, (5″ h crest, 9 1/2″ dia dial), bell with two strikers, case with two-panel door surmounted with leaf and scroll carved panel, circular carved separator with raised flower buds, raised and molded panel below, simple molded base, three inset panel sides, mortise and tenon construction, key to door, paper labeled inside “Seurre”, (Note: Seurre is a village in the Burgundy Region of France), from a Duxbury, MA estate, 8′ 2″ h, 16″ w, 11″ d.
