New England, pine case, original grain painted finish in red and black, (4″ restoration at upper part of front bonnet), simple ogee molding, scallop edged bonnet, finely painted wood face with Masonic symbols at the top in gilt and blue and red paint, black painted Roman numerals, red floral decoration on the corners, signed “R. Whiting, Winchester”, brass works, scalloped footed base, c. 1830-1840, 6′ 8″ h, 12″ w at waist, 17 1/2″ w at top, 9 1/2″ d.
