New England, pine, both in sponge grain painted finishes, dovetailed, smaller box painted to resemble bird’s-eye maple, with decorative rimmed lid, (split in lid), turned ball feet, cut diamond escutcheon (missing ivory), 4″ h, 18″ l, 10″ d; and a larger box, dovetailed, sponge decorated in browns, cast iron side handle, intact lock plate, (thin split on lid), 13″ h, 29 1/2″ l, 14 1/2″ d.
