Framed miniature artist’s palette of a landscape with houses and poplar trees, labeled on reverse “Birthplace of J.G. Whittier (found in Exeter, N.H.)”, also “John Greenleaf Whittier (Poet) born Haverhill, Mass. Dec. 17, 1807, Died Hampton Falls, NH, Sept. 7, 1892. He was a Quaker, and was called the ‘Quaker poet.’ In his boyhood he worked on the farm he later described in his poem ‘Snowbound.'”, (note: Howard and Flo purchased painting in Dec. 1987), walnut and gilt lined frame, 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ (sight), (ex.
