Primitive landscape and shore line scene of a military encampment, tents and lean-tos flying an American flag at Downers Landing, Hingham, Mass., on back “painted while in Prison Camp of Confederate Army during Civil War”, also a paper label with pencil inscription “George B. Edmands first Ulula at Downer’s Landing Hingham”, showing nine soldiers in red jerseys and broad brimmed black hats, two soldiers in a rowboat, sailboats in the background, condition shows crackle, wrinkles and minor scrapes in the middle of sky and in water, wood frame, (note: Edmands was with the 1st Mass. Cavalry and was a private; consigned from the Edmands family), 13 1/2″ x 17″ (sight).
