Portrait of the SS Great Eastern, signed l.l. “Stubbs” (William Pierce Stubbs, Maine/Massachusetts, 1842-1909), depicts the largest ship of its time plowing through the water, with four sailboats in the distance, two small chips present near central mast, minor in-painting to three sails, and small touch-up to upper left corner, old repairs by Gustav Klimann, in a large gold leaf frame, from the Roche family of Norwell, MA, 24″ x 36″ (sight).
