Very fine lacquerware tray, in the Federal style, black and gold lacquer, central decorated scene of an island pavilion with families at tea and in the gardens, finely painted raised border, some rippling present but no noticeable loss to lacquer, from an early Cohasset, MA estate, 21 1/2″ x 27″.
