Flame stitched face screen attached to a paper card backing, with a finely turned wood handle, signed on back in pencil “Wrought by Mary Porter before the year 1786. She married Rev. Thomas Crafts Dec. 29, 1786 and died Jan. 4, 1843″, originally purchased from the Royal Lincoln estate, Hyde Park Avenue in Mattapan, MA, some minor wear on upper and lower right cloth edging, otherwise good condition, 12 3/8″ l, 8” w, (ex. Dr. Oscar and Lois Hollander collection, Falmouth, MA).
