Gardiner, 77 RGT, His Horn, Niagara” in a square under the colored Coat of Arms, shows cities and towns along the Hudson, Oswego, Quebec, Lake Champlain, New York, etc., exhibits exceptional craftsmanship, (literary reference: Weapons of the American Revolution, Warren Moore, New York, NY, 1967, related example illustrated on p. 174), 15″ l. [The 77 Regiment of Foot (Infantry) 1758-1763, was also known as Montgomery’s Highlanders (a Scottish regiment). In 1763 this regiment fought in the Battle of Bushy Hill, PA, dispersing the Indian’s siege of Fort Pitt, in the French and Indian War.]
