Antique silver cross pendant (3″ x 2 1/4″) with a sacred heart motif in the center, the cross exhibits scallop seashell ends, with attached bale (which is worn), cross displays raised letters “ET, CU, AU, ICJ” on one side and the the words “Spes, Unica” on the other side, (note: Spes, Unica is translated from latin “Hope and Unity”, and also translated “Our Only Hope”), the cross is similar to two other crosses, made in France, hundreds of years ago, that belonged to two Catholic Clergy, who were later canonized; the frame also displays twelve 1/2″ dia French and Indian Trade silver washer brooches.
