Walking stick with a tag that reads “Cane made from pc of wood from battleship – New Orleans, War of 1812, Sackets Harbor, NY.”, (note: in 1882 the ship was dismantled and the wood and hand forged hardware was sold to numerous people, including furniture makers and woodworkers of the time), retains an old hand forged spike, with wear and the lower portion of cane missing from an old break, 33″ l; Eight-sided walking stick with a pewter cap, lower part of cap engraved “10-16”, each of the eight sides displays a measuring scale varying from “1-20 through 1-46″, a metal tip and light wear, 36 1/4” l.
