Early American, a man holding paper, quill pen in bottle on stand, light tan background fading into dark edges of canvas, and portrait of his wife, her hand showing gold ring and gold pin holding lace collar, indicating they were in a comfortable position, these charming portraits were exhibited at the Morris Museum NJ Collector Series, The Fertig Collection of Folk Art, April-June, 1991, contemporary grain painted frames with stenciled corners are signed on back “Rubens Teles, Piermont, NY”, sold at the Museum of American Folk Art Benefit County Auction, Tuesday, April 11, 1995, at Sotheby’s, 27 1/2″ x 23″ (sight), 35″ x 29 1/2″ (frame), (ex.
