New England, five different alphabets, a white colonial home with green shutters and double chimney at the bottom, with a very fancy white fence, weeping willow and pine tree, two large birds, on the right “Beauty is pleasing to the eye, But soon admits decay, Virtue implanted in the heart, Will never fade away. Elsina A. Haile, Hartford Aug 31 1836”, on the left is “What eer on earth may be thy lot, Still dear friend Forget me not.”, with “Mary E. Brown and Louisa Cole, Troy” and other friends initials, in original pine frame, in original red painted finish, (note: appears to never have had glass or a background), overall good condition, 17 3/4″ x 26 3/4″.
